Quy Nhon is an important city in the South Central region of Vietnam. Quy Nhon is a lively and pleasant city virtually half way between the popular cities of Nha Trang and Hoi An. The city is known for its beautiful surroundings, Cham temples, and nearby beaches. Whilst tourism is increasing in Quy Nhon, this tends to be local tourism, and for the majority of travellers it remains relatively off the beaten track.

Con Son Town, Con Son Island, Con Dao Archipelago, Vietnam – February 24, 2011: Phu Hai Prison. Sun dappled buildings astride the main entrance to Phu Hai – one of several prisons on Con Son Island which together comprised a former French colonial penal colony. The prisons were also used to contain political prisoners during the Vietnam War. Many Vietnamese nationalist and revolutionary notables were imprisoned here, some of them confined in ‘tiger cages.’ The prison is now disused and a visitor attraction.

Vung Tau is a famous coastal city in the South of Vietnam. Vung Tau is the port capital of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, on a peninsula in southern Vietnam. Once a French colonial town, it’s now a popular seaside resort that draws visitors from Ho Chi Minh City, who arrive by hydrofoil. Its long, busy stretch of beach has the verdant Small and Big mountains as backdrop.
